About this beer
Barton & Gray Grog is a Bavarian-style golden lager, described as “ready, crisp, clean, & herbal” on the label. Weighing in at 5.2% ABV and 12 ounces per can, it is brewed and packaged in Brattleboro, Vermont by North Chair Brewing. The beer’s recipe was reportedly developed with friends at North Chair and is best served at sea—or, more practically, on sunny days with friends and family. Crafted with classic noble hops, Grog aims for a smooth finish and is intended to be refreshing and versatile, equally fitting for land or sea.
The can’s artwork evokes a nautical theme, with a deep blue background and repeated illustrations of a classic tall ship sailing on wavy waters. The word “GROG” is prominently displayed in a stylized, white serif font, and the brand name "Barton & Gray Mariners Club" appears below in a similarly designed font. A small, triangular pennant with a white anchor against a blue background appears at both the top and bottom of the can, reinforcing the seafaring aesthetic.
