Save Me #2 is a collaboration between Anchorage Brewing Company and Horus Aged Ales, resulting in an Imperial Stout & Black Barleywine Ale blend with coconut. Weighing in at 13% ABV, this complex brew showcases the flavors imparted by extended aging; the stout component spent 28 months in once-used American oak barrels, while the black barleywine aged 24 months in a mix of Buffalo Trace, Knob Creek, and Calumet Farms bourbon barrels. The resulting liquid offers a robust profile with notes of dark fruit, roasted malt, and a subtle sweetness from the coconut, rounded out by the vanilla and wood character from the barrel aging.
