Original Press Release

KENTWOOD, Mich. – Mar. 16, 2026 – Proper Beverage Co. has achieved NSF/ANSI 229 Food Safety Certification, an important milestone that strengthens the company’s commitment to safe and consistent contract beverage manufacturing. This new certification expands on the existing SQF Certification and provides an additional layer of independent verification across all production processes.

NSF/ANSI 229 Certification recognizes organizations that maintain disciplined food safety practices from ingredient handling to production, sanitation and packaging, supported by evaluations for heavy metals, microbiological contaminants, mycotoxins, pesticides and accurate nutrient content.

“Our partners trust us with their products, and this certification demonstrates our ongoing commitment to delivering safe, consistent, high-quality beverages at every run,” said Kevin Clement, CEO of Proper Beverage Co.

The certification arrives at a key moment as Proper Beverage Co. prepares to open a new facility later this year. The expansion will increase canning capacity and add carton packing and in-house variety packing, further strengthening the company’s ability to support brand partners with scalable, high-quality manufacturing.

“Building on our strong foundation of certifications, NSF/ANSI 229 gives our clients an additional level of verified assurance that our processes continue to meet the highest expectations,” said Brian Hirsch, president of Proper Beverage Co.
