Original Press Release

Midvale, UT & Tempe, AZ — [April 3, 2026] — Outlaw Distillery, the family-owned craft distillery known for its award-winning spirits and commitment to grain-to-glass craftsmanship, is proud to announce a new distribution partnership that will bring the company’s lineup of spirits to customers throughout the state of California.

Beginning April 2026, California consumers will be able to find the distillery’s flagship spirits in select big box retailers, liquor stores, craft cocktail bars, restaurants, and whiskey specialty shops. Through this partnership with Western States Beverage, one of California’s leading beverage distributors, Outlaw Distillery will begin the distillery’s largest market expansion to date.

“California has always been a deeply strategic and personal target for us,” said Tyler Halstead, President and CEO of Outlaw Distillery. “By sheer volume, California is a powerful market with a deep appreciation for craft spirits and innovative producers. Partnering with Western States Beverage allows us to share our passion, showcase our spirit, and offer access to a California market which is as much about origin as it is about growth, with family roots throughout the state.”

“We’re thrilled to welcome Outlaw Distillery to our portfolio,” echoed Rod Taylor, President at Western States Beverage. “Their approach to whiskey and craft spirits brings something truly unique to the California market. We are excited to be a part of their aggressive growth plans and to support one of the top up-and-coming brands in the Southwest.”

Founded in Midvale, Utah, in 2015, Outlaw Distillery earned a loyal following for its grain-to-glass production, sourcing local Utah grains hand-delivered by farmers and crafting premium whiskeys, rums, and moonshines with meticulous care to remove impurities for a cleaner, sweeter taste. In June 2025, Outlaw Distillery acquired Tempe-based Adventurous Stills, a fellow grain-to-glass pioneer founded in 2016, marking a strategic expansion from its Utah roots into Arizona. This move allowed Outlaw to integrate the Arizona operations into its portfolio, effectively rebranding the site while preserving key products, creating a multi-state operation with enhanced production capacity and a broader distribution footprint.

Today, the distillery has continued to grow steadily throughout the Mountain West, with the California launch marking the next step in its regional expansion strategy.
