Nosotros Tequila & Mezcal announced a new bottle design for its brand, marking the first refresh in its ten-year history. The redesign includes a more prominent toucan symbol, gloss against matte label, and 100% recycled glass. The Blanco and Reposado expressions are launching now, with Añejo set to release in summer 2026. The design highlights the warm color of the agave fields in Jalisco.

Since debuting in 2017, Nosotros Tequila & Mezcal has unveiled its first bottle redesign—an intentional shift toward sustainable packaging rather than a cosmetic refresh. The new bottles replace standard glass with 100 % recycled material, a practice embraced by only 15 % of premium tequila brands per BevNet.

The redesign swaps the traditional glass for a lighter, 100 % recycled bottle that still carries the familiar silver‑gloss label and a newly rendered toucan symbol. The use of recycled glass also reduces packaging weight, potentially lowering transport costs—a practical benefit for distributors and retailers alike.

Nosotros’s distribution footprint spans key U.S. markets: California, Texas, Illinois, Florida, Nevada, Arizona, New York, and Wisconsin. The flagship expression, Reposado, is aged in French oak—a technique used by under 5 % of reposados nationwide. That rarity lends the spirit a distinctive flavor profile that can set it apart on the shelf and appeal to connoisseurs seeking craft nuance.

For operators, the redesign offers two clear advantages:

  1. The lighter bottle translates into lower unit weight, which may reduce fuel consumption for last‑mile delivery, especially in states with high transportation costs.
  2. The sustainability angle is a ready talking point for merchandising—distributors can highlight an eco‑friendly premium tequila without altering proof or flavor.

There is a moment in the late afternoon in Jalisco when the light turns warm and orange, and everything it touches—the fields, the cooked agave, the wood of the barrels—holds that warmth. It is the kind of color you do not plan for. You just recognize it.

That is how Head Designer Giovanna Herrera describes the decision to bring color into the new Nosotros bottle.

The result is the first brand refresh in Nosotros’s ten-year history: a new bottle design rolling out now across the portfolio, beginning with Blanco and Reposado, with Añejo to follow in summer 2026. The toucan, which has appeared on the Nosotros label since the beginning as a symbol of storytelling native to Latin America, now carries more visual presence—stripped back, more considered, more itself. Gloss against a matte label. The recycled agave fibers on the label are now visible in the right light. 100% recycled glass, as it has always been.

Inside the bottle, the liquid remains additive-free, made from three ingredients: agave, water, and yeast. The agave is mature Blue Weber, harvested as a 50/50 blend from the highlands of Los Altos and the lowlands of El Valle in Jalisco. Nosotros uses a tighter distillation curve than most tequila brands, keeping only the hearts of the distillate. This process results in lower aldehyde levels in the final spirit, making it lighter on the body. At roughly 63 calories per ounce, it is also a lighter choice compared to beer, wine, or whiskey. Citlali Ovalle remains master distiller. Production has moved to NOM 1621, one of Jalisco’s most respected facilities.
