Louisville, Ky. (March 19, 2026) – Bourbon has long been part of life’s meaningful moments, but rarely the ones we celebrate the loudest. UNBRIDLED SPIRIT Kentucky Straight Bourbon was created to change that, positioning bourbon as a spirit meant to celebrate wins, not losses.
Kentucky-born Black founder India Robinson created UNBRIDLED after noticing that while bourbon is one of America’s most iconic spirits, it is often overlooked when people celebrate life’s biggest milestones.
Robinson’s career spans the global spirits industry, where she worked on brands including Jameson, Martell Cognac, and Perrier-Jouët. She has played a consulting role building brands across sports, spirits, and culture, and later served as CMO for a two-time Super Bowl champion.
She describes the concept behind UNBRIDLED as “the champagne of bourbon™,” reframing the spirit as a drink meant for celebrations.
“People celebrate important occasions with champagne or tequila, but rarely bourbon,” Robinson said. “I remember a client celebrating a major win—we had the opportunity to order 20 bottles to our table—and when I suggested bourbon, he said, ‘Bourbon isn’t for celebrating.’ It just never sat right with me. How could one of America’s most iconic spirits not be the face of celebration? With UNBRIDLED, we’re changing that, positioning bourbon alongside champagne, tequila, and luxury cognac, and inviting people to rethink when and how bourbon is enjoyed.”
Robinson’s inspiration for the brand also reflects her own family history. Her great-grandfather was a Prohibition-era whiskey bootlegger, while her great-great-grandfather was a Black cowboy who broke horses after emancipation—stories that inform both the brand’s name and its spirit of independence.
UNBRIDLED’s tasting notes include vanilla, brown sugar, cinnamon, and maple syrup, with aromas of cherry and sweet cornbread.
The bottle design incorporates symbolic details tied to the brand’s identity. The cap features a broken horse bit, a reference to an unbridled horse, while rippling textures in the glass evoke horsehair running free. The bottle shape draws inspiration from the silhouette of a champagne bottle, reinforcing the brand’s focus on celebration.
